Melanie Rogers Campus
Staff, University of Louisiana Lafayette
I grew up believing that as long as I was a good person that I
was right with God. Entering college I was the typical wild child
party girl, who was all about having fun and being the perfect student—for
I based my significance on popularity and academic performance.
In my sophomore year I met someone who challenged me to think about
what I believed and why I believed what I did. It was through looking
into God’s Word that I realized a relationship with God comes
only through making a decision to surrender control of my life to
God, committing to live for Him and no longer for myself. I made
that decision one night in my dorm room with a friend, and since
then God has proven to be faithful to change my heart and grow me
in my relationship with Him.
